Keeping it in the family

Pastor Stirewalt of New Market donated the beautiful tract of land on which Luther Crest was built in the 1980s. His daughter, Sue Stirewalt Lane, was a resident at Brandon Oaks.

My father was always interested in the welfare of the community. From time to time he said how he wished he could do something to keep community people in the area. After his death, my brother and my husband worked with the Synod to donate land with the goal of serving elderly people in the Shenandoah Valley."
